Four changes, in plain English
The income limit is back
The extra help available through 2025 has ended. If your household earns more than 4 times the poverty line (about $63,840 a year for one person or $132,000 for a family of four), you no longer get a subsidy.
Fewer groups qualify for subsidies
In 2027, subsidies remain for permanent residents (green card), Cuban/Haitian Entrants and COFA migrants. With another lawful status you can still buy a plan, but you would pay the full premium. We help you compare options.
Estimating your income matters more
There is no longer a cap on what you repay at tax time if your actual income was higher than reported. Getting it right up front avoids surprises.
Do nothing and it renews automatically
Your plan may auto-renew at a different price or with less help. Many families only find out with the first January bill.
Every case is different. An agent reviews yours with you before you decide.

What people ask us most
What happens if I do nothing?
If you already have a Marketplace plan, it usually renews automatically. The price, doctor network or the help you get may change. Reviewing it takes one call.
How long can I enroll?
Until December 15 for coverage on January 1, and until January 15 to start February 1. For Medicare, October 15 to December 7.
Will you ask for documents?
Not on this form. When you enroll, the Marketplace may ask you to verify income or status, and your agent explains what to send and how.
